Michael commented:

I’m delighted to be working once again with the talented members of the Palace Youth Theatre, and of course the great team at the theatre.

Auditions take place in March, whilst rehearsals start in earnest in May. Performance dates are likely to be in July, we’ll confirm nearer the time of course.

This years’ show, Jack And The Beanstalk, includes Jeffrey Holland (Hi De Hi), Jake Maskall (Eastenders), Judy Buxton (On The Up) and Andy Steed (The X Factor).

Once again Michael is working with drummer and percussionist Benjamin Burton, and producing the excellent quality backing tracks that he is renowned for, to songs this year including Fame, Bad (Michael Jackson), Bonkers (Dizzee Rascal) and Find Your Grail (Spamalot) to name but a few.

When Redditch Palace Youth Theatre decided to embark upon their first musical production they needed a capable musical director who could both teach and inspire the young performers, and so they turned to Michael.

Over a period of just over two months Michael taught the songs (and a little vocal technique) to the cast, many of whom had never sung before in a production. In that short period of time the cast mastered the many musical numbers of Animal Farm, and finally performed them admirably over the course of the three shows, accompanied solely by Michael.

No doubt this will not be the Palace Youth Theatre’s last foray into musical theatre, and it’s unlikely to be Michael’s last time working with the Palace Youth Theatre.
